Dr.-Ing. Mehmet Ali Küçüker, a faculty member of the Department of Environmental Engineering at İzmir Institute of Technology, has been awarded funding under the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme for an international project entitled “Environmental Monitoring and Impact Assessment for Post-Disaster Waste Management.” Within the scope of this project, Dr. Küçüker will serve as Co-Director, contributing to the scientific coordination and implementation of the research activities.

Together with his distinguished research team, Dr. Küçüker aims to provide substantial scientific contributions to post-disaster waste management strategies, environmental monitoring methodologies, and impact assessment frameworks. The project brings together respected academics from Türkiye, Germany, and Ukraine, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of disaster resilience and environmental protection.

This achievement represents an important step toward strengthening international research cooperation and enhancing scientific capacity in addressing environmental challenges arising in the aftermath of disasters.
