COST Action ICPLASTIC

As part of the EU-funded COST Action ICPLASTIC (No. 23131), Research Assistant Yiğithan Kazancı from our department participated in the training school titled “Bridging Machine Learning and Microplastic Research.” The event was hosted by CEITEC in Brno, Czech Republic, and focused on the application of machine learning techniques in the visual and spectroscopic analysis of microplastics. Throughout the program, participants explored the effectiveness of various artificial intelligence approaches in detecting and classifying microplastics, while engaging in hands-on sessions featuring innovative methodologies. Such studies play a crucial role in improving the accuracy and efficiency of microplastic detection, thereby contributing significantly to environmental sustainability.
