The ENV491 Supplementary Curriculum Course is an institute-level course designed to promote lifelong learning. It allows students to integrate the education and training they have undertaken outside of the curriculum/İYTE (İzmir Institute of Technology) into a single elective course.

To enroll in this course, students must provide proof of participation in a total of 84 hours of training by March 28, 2025, and must submit a certificate of achievement for at least one of these trainings. The majority of these trainings are expected to be related to professional or occupational needs and/or requirements. At the discretion of the course instructor, a training program related to personal development may be counted toward the total, provided that it does not exceed 13 hours. However, the justification for such training must be established based on its relevance to professional or occupational needs and/or requirements. Nevertheless, this type of training cannot be used in the category of certified achievement-based education.

Students enrolled in the course will be required to submit a report by May 2, 2025, detailing the trainings they have undertaken and the competencies they have gained concerning professional needs and/or requirements. In the remaining part of the semester, a schedule will be created based on the number of enrolled students, and the prepared reports will be presented to the course instructor and other students enrolled in the course.

A student’s transcript cannot include both the ENV491 and ENV499 courses simultaneously.
